December 13, 2014, 7-9 p.m.
Vine Street in Paso Robles (Between 8th and 21st Streets)
Take part in a one-of-a-kind holiday celebration, inspired by Charles Dickens' creative fiction and real-world Victorian London. Blending both historical and literary charm, the 28th Annual Vine Street Victorian Showcase invites guests for a special journey back in time. Spend an evening rubbing elbows with classic characters in costume. You'll feel like you’ve actually stepped inside the pages of "A Christmas Carol" when you encounter the infamous Ebenezer Scrooge. The Snow Queen and King will also be onsite to greet guests along with the stars of the season, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
Listen to live music entertainment as bands perform and people join together to sing holiday jingles. A festive assortment of floats will create a dazzling display of holiday décor. Step into community open houses to witness a showcase of merrymaking worthy of a magazine. Take the kids and indulge in free cookies and hot chocolate along with sticky-sweet cones of cotton candy and piping hot cider to stay warm.
Stroll along 14 blocks of Victorian homes decorated for the holidays. All along your way, you'll encounter storytellers, dancers, and other street performers. You can keep an eye out for the Grinch, the furry green curmudgeon who finally finds his Christmas spirit in Dr. Seuss' legendary tale. You can also take a trolley ride to see Paso Robles from an entirely new perspective aglow with lights.
